AB InBev: Supporting Biochar Development

BioFlux is supporting Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (AB InBev) in their biochar production ambitions.

AB InBev is investigating the potential role of biomass pyrolysis and biochar as part of the multinational’s larger sustainability strategy, particularly focusing on:

• Implementing carbon reduction measures for their energy and fertiliser supply chains
• Implementing circular economy practices
• Identifying opportunities to implement carbon sequestration strategies

Biomass pyrolysis to produce biochar presents a promising solution that aligns with these goals.

Collaboration Scope

BioFlux is leading the development of an extensive feasibility study including an assessment of feedstock suitability and availability, a comparative overview of suitable technologies and a biochar application and market analysis. 

Expected Outcomes

The collaboration will set the foundation for AB InBev to define their interest in launching a biochar carbon removal project.
